Australian multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd recently released Nanna, a new album featuring The United Nations, an eight-piece multinational band that incorporates various forms of world music in their songs. Whether it’s reggae, jazz, or traditional Australian/African-influenced, Rudd and his band utilizes them all, weaving diverse sonic cultures with messages based on his own history with activism. He will be playing on May 2 at Bowery Ballroom in New York City and May 3 at Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn.
