Lenka: From Down Under With Love

Australian singer-songwriter Lenka is headlining a performance at Joe’s Pub in NYC on Thursday, July 18. The artist is probably best known for her hit song “The Show,” which appeared in the film Moneyball off 2008’s Lenka. Her most recent release, Shadows, was written over the course of her pregnancy and first few months as a new mother, leading her down a brand new direction and melodic appeal she self-describes as “lullabies for adults.” The emotionally charged record serves to prove that parenthood affects everything you create, and in this case, brings out the best in the artist.
