It’s funny how people come in and out of your life. It’s also funny how they come back into your life. I’m not sure if I’ve written about this band Answer Infinity yet, but if I did, they’re worth the mention again. You see, guitarist Mark Tiarra did some vocal work for one of my old bands, Wild Angel, back in the early ‘90s. He was amazing! Well, I haven’t even thought about Mark in quite some time, and then I get a Facebook message from another one of my old buds, Eric Klein from the band UUU, who says that he’s now singing original music again in Mark’s band! See how I did that? In and out of your life and then back in again? It’s like full circle. Speaking of UUU, I also ran into guitarist Doug Mackey, so for me there was sort of a UUU reunion. Anyway, I gave Mark and Eric’s band, Answer Infinity, a listen, and the tracks that I heard were very good! Eric’s voice still sounds amazing and Mark’s guitar work on songs like “Falling Off The Edge,” “War,” and the “The Ghost Of You” were true masterpieces.
Answer Infinity formed only a couple of years ago back in 2011 by two guitarists, Mark Tiarra and A.J. Dinardo, whose influences were technically decades apart, giving the group an eclectic mix of a modern hard rock sound with classic metal. Singer Eric Klein, who is no stranger to the scene and known for his work with Days Before Tomorrow and UUU, brings his impressive pipes and his knowledge of the business to the table. Rounding out the rest of the band is drummer E.J. Luna and a bass player listed as Happy Gilmour.
Answer Infinity recently opened for Soilwork at Mexicali Live in Teaneck a couple of weeks ago. They’re putting the finishing touches on their upcoming CD, Never Going Back Again, which is funny considering these guys keep coming in and out of my life. Keep an eye out to find out when Answer Infinity will be playing live again. For now, give them a listen at reverbnation.com/answerinfinity.
NORTH JERSEY NOTES UPDATES:
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that my new boys, Iratetion, were about to drop their new single “In Blood You Drown” at the end of April, but what I didn’t mention was that they were also releasing a new music video on the same day to coincide with the single’s release. Well, now you can check out the video for this new bone-crushing song at youtu.be/tEOZgOaeyNQ. To hear more from Iratetion, log onto facebook.com/iratetion.
The boys from Deal Casino have a new EP out called Cocaine Love, which they’ll be dropping with a CD release party at Architekt Music in Butler this Friday night (5/17). Apparently, when I first featured Deal Casino, I heard music from them when they were still called Something About January, and I said that they sounded very vanilla. Well, that vanilla just got some chocolate on it because these guys have upped their game with this new EP. The song “Cocaine Love” is a bit heavier with some hooks that is sure to get them radio airplay. Check Deal Casino out now at facebook.com/dealcasinonj.
And finally, I’m like a proud papa having to announce that my band BlackOcean landed an amazing gig opening for the legendary former Metallica bassist, Jason Newsted, and his band Newsted at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Thursday, May 23. This will be one hell of a warm-up show before we head up to Massachusetts a week later to show them what New Jersey rock is all about. Advanced tickets for the Newsted show are $20 and can be bought by emailing me! How is that for a cheap plug? Check out my band BlackOcean at facebook.com/blackoceanmusic.
That’s all for now! If your band is from North Jersey, and you want some exposure, send your press kits to Arts Weekly, c/o Tim Louie P.O. Box 1140, Little Falls, NJ 07424, or you can email me at tim@theaquarian.com, where you can also let me know where you’re performing next!
Just remember….We’re all in the same boat, so every little bit of exposure counts!
