Ultraísta: Strange Formula

With its dense and fluid layers of electronics and haunting vocals, Ultraísta’s self-titled debut album, released Oct. 2, has sparked a feverish and growing interest. Chopped and glitched samples overlap and bleed into each other, intertwining into dark landscapes and danceable pop dreams. Producer Nigel Godrich (of Radiohead fame), drummer Joey Walker, and singer Laura Bettinson bring their bewitching sound to life with a surreal visual aesthetic, making for a thoroughly enchanting experience. Ultraísta will be playing their first NYC show on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Le Poisson Rouge.
