After much success from her spring tour, Malian superstar Khaïra Arby And Her Band will be coming to the Big Apple to perform a mix of afro-beat, desert blues, world and experimental music. The Timbuktu native finds inspiration in her homeland from the people living in her village to the past and present struggles she and those around her have faced. This 2011 Tamani D’Or Award-winner (Mali’s highest musical honor) has three albums to her name and will be releasing her fourth in August, titled Timbuktu Tarab. Experience the performing in back to back shows at Brooklyn Bowl on July 6 and Manhattan’s Le Poisson Rouge on July 7, where she will be sharing the stage with Brooklyn duo The Mast.
