You’re probably most familiar with Orba Squara’s “Perfect Timing (This Morning)” a.k.a. the song that launched a thousand iPhone commercials and the career of Orba’s sole member, New York-based musician Mitch Davis. To create his sweet and catchy songs, Davis typically uses “organic” instruments like glockenspiel, accordion, toy pianos, xylophone and ukulele. On his upcoming album, The Trouble With Flying, he’s intriguingly enlisted the help of a much less, umm, organic musician, his boyhood idol Billy Squier (cool!). Here’s to Davis winning the respect of more than just iPhone enthusiasts. He plays with Jad Fair at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on Saturday, Nov. 21. 7 p.m. $10. orbasquara.com.
