ANOTHER DAY DAWNS—Lehighton, PA
I recently stumbled across this great hard rock band out of Lehighton, PA when I noticed they had a similar name to my buds in New Day Dawn. I’m glad that I stumbled upon them, though, because I really liked what I heard. The name of the band is Another Day Dawns. Do you see how similar the names are? Anyway, I got to listen to a few tracks like “Love She’s After,” “Rage” and “Save-Me,” and I felt that singer Dakota McGeehan’s voice is simply awesome! He has this deep commanding voice that I always enjoyed listening to in hard rock music. The guitar work from guitarist Tyler Ritter is nothing to sneeze at either.
According to their bio, Another Day Dawns is an alternative hard rock band with an energetic live show of all-original music. The band was formed back in 2010 by two of its original members, guitarist Tyler Ritter and drummer Nick McGeehan. Singer Dakota McGeehan joined the band as the frontman in late 2011. Like many bands, there’s that one instrument that the band can never nail down. For Another Day Dawns, it’s the bass player position. Several bass players have sat in with the band, but bassist Danielle Dubois has been the band’s bassist since 2015. Another Day Dawns continue to break into new markets with unequaled enthusiasm and work ethic. The four members’ varied tastes have been blended together to create their heavy and unique sound. The band has played venues all across Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey, sharing the stage with national artists like Sammy Hagar, Tesla, The Wailers, Fuel, Ted Nugent, and Trapt. Singer Dakota McGeehan continues to embrace the frontman role, while guitarist Tyler Ritter becomes increasingly confident with his playing live. But the band also is understanding the nuances of performance.
The future for Another Day Dawns seems promising. The band continues to write new music and hone in their craft as songwriters, learn more covers to broaden their repertoire and move into new markets outside of the PA/NJ/NYC markets. With youth on their side, time is definitely on their side! It sounds like these kids have a game plan, so keep your ear out for them in 2017. And finally, I recently got a copy of the latest CD from The Black Clouds, After All, and since I couldn’t make it to their Brighton Bar show a couple of weeks ago, I figured I’d give their new CD a listen. It was great! The songs “Vice,” “Photograph,” “Sayonara” and “Merchants of Death” are definite must-listens. I really regret not catching these guys live!
