MANHATTAN, NY—Seaport District NYC hosted its annual outdoor free-admission Festival of Independence to the South Street Seaport area for two days and nights over the Fourth of July weekend. Vendors’ temporary kiosks offered the historic district a street fair feel, but the music stages seemed to draw the biggest crowds. Noisey, VICE’s music and culture channel, featured performances on a stage on Fulton Street on July 3 and 4, and the Howard Hughes Corporation sponsored a second stage at Peck Slip on July 4. The event concluded with a nearby view of the 40th anniversary Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks over the East River, sponsored in part by the Howard Hughes Corporation.
