If you have a soft spot for dark-tinged indie pop, get ready for LAYNE. The California-based duo, which consists of guitarist/vocalist Layne Putnam and drummer Alex Rosca, have been causing a stir online over the past year through a series of a singles, such as the haunting track, “Good.” Now the pair are ready to unleash their debut EP, The Black Hills, named after the famous mountains in Putnam’s hometown of Rapid City, SD. To celebrate its Aug. 26 release, the two have embarked on a limited tour across the country, including a stop at Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan on Aug. 29.
