Every time it seems as if the whole alt-country genre has become exhausted, another band will show and prove that the genre can still sound fresh. Although their authenticity would lead one to believe Pale Green Stars hail from somewhere in the Deep South, they are actually from Syracuse, New York. The band possess a tightly put-together take on cow-punk that is very much their own. Their lyrics touch on many of the staples of the genre including laziness, cheating, and driving on the highway. Their songs are such high-energy that it’s almost impossible to not bob your head or tap your feet while listening to their upbeat country punk. Pale Green Stars will be performing at the Black Bear Bar in Brooklyn on April 30.
