It’s hard to believe that England’s Foals have been making music for 10 years. It seems only yesterday that math-dance-punk outfit blew up with “Cassius” off their debut album, Antidotes. Since then, they’ve released three more albums and their high-energy performances have become a popular staple on the indie rock festival circuit. Their latest offering, What Went Down, boasts a fuller sound than anything they’ve previously released. The youthful punch of their early material is largely absent, but it’s replaced by a more mature refined sound that suits the band just as well. But, if for nothing else, Foals have remained a force in the indie rock scene for so long due to their live shows, having been nominated for multiple awards for “Best Live Act” throughout their career. Even more reason to catch them at Terminal 5 on Dec. 18 and Union Transfer on Dec. 19.
