After finishing up an international tour with Florence + The Machine, Australia’s Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders are touring the U.S. in support of their fourth album, Playmates, out now on Fat Possum Records. Lead singles “Her Hands” and “Come On Back This Way” answer the question of what it would sound like if fellow-Aussie Nick Cave fronted Depeche Mode instead of the Bad Seeds. Ladder’s songs possess an almost cinematic vibe and are saturated with plenty of glitzy ‘80s synth hooks accompanied by Ladder’s deep, bellowing croon. The band will be headlining shows two shows in New York next month, at Baby’s All Right on Dec. 1 and at Mercury Lounge on Dec. 2.
