The Brian Setzer Orchestra is back again, with the 12th incarnation of their annual “Christmas Rocks! Tour,” along with their sixth Christmas album, Rockin’ Rudolph, which is out now on Surfdog Records. For the better part of this century, Setzer and his 18-piece orchestra have been touring their snazzy big-band renditions of Christmas songs, ascribing to the consistent philosophy of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” while simultaneously coming up with new arrangements for old favorites—from traditional classics like “O Little Town Of Bethlehem” to their rousing arrangement of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” which opens their new album. Setzer and his band will be celebrating the season with audiences at the Bergen Performing Arts Center on Nov. 28, the NYCB Theatre At Westbury on Nov. 29, and the Count Basie Theatre on Dec. 2.
