Talented quartet Born Ruffians are making strides in the music industry with their catchy lyrics and fun instrumentals that make you wish you were hearing them live on a beach somewhere. Canadian roots with indie rock heart, these four certainly know how to make an entertaining rhythmic piece of music work seamlessly. Ruff, their fifth studio album, moves closer to their old origins of being more upbeat as opposed to their former Birth Marks (2013). “Don’t Live Up,” in particular, is so hypnotizing with Luke Lalonde’s sweet vocals and the memorable lyrics, “You’re living a dream but it don’t live up.” This change works to their advantage by keeping their sound fresher than ever. They will be performing on Oct. 28 in NYC at Bowery Ballroom and on Nov. 2 in Philly at Johnny Brenda’s.
