The State Fair Meadowlands is back, this time from June 19 to July 5 at the State Fair Meadowlands Fairgrounds (next to MetLife Stadium). This year will feature the usual family-friendly entertainment: fireworks on Independence Day weekend, a petting zoo, a sky ride (bird’s-eye views of New York from the other side of the Lincoln Tunnel), Rosaire’s Royal Racing Pigs, and an open-air circus. In case that’s not enough, the fair will also have opportunities to ride in the original Batcopter (of the 1960s TV series), the Steve Baynor Hypnotist Show, and a New Jersey Hall of Fame Mobile Museum.
New to the fair, however, will be an event with Lipizzaner Stallions (think less Seabiscuit and more dressage shows), and a chance to meet cast members from reality show Lizard Lick Towing from June 24 to June 28.
For those looking for a different type of entertainment, music and food will also abound. Eagles tribute band EagleMania, Queen tribute band Almost Queen, and country group Citizens Band Radio are all scheduled to play. Food vendors will be offering Italian, Greek, Mexican, and American food around the Meadowlands Fairgrounds, including gator kebabs and turkey legs.
Tickets vary in price, with Mega Passes available and Bargain Nights offering free and discounted admission.
