Camané and Dead Combo, two passionate fado musicians from Portugal, will be making their first and only U.S. appearance together this month. Camané, who has sold over six million CDs and previously won the Grande Noite do Fado (Great Fado Night) honor at only 12 years old, will be the first male fado artist to perform at NJPAC. Dead Combo, a duo that combines traditional fado music with modern alternative elements such as electric guitars, have recently been featured on Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and in the Will Smith film Focus. Camané and Dead Combo are fans of each other’s work and hope to expose new generations to fado. For one night only, Camané and Dead Combo will be performing together at NJPAC on March 15.
