For those of us unlucky enough not to make it down to Louisiana for this year’s New Orleans Mardi Gras celebration, Philly Gumbo is bringing a taste of the French Quarter to Pennsylvania at The Sellersville Theater located just off Route #309 on Fat Tuesday, February 17, at 8:00. Steeped in the tradition, they’ve been playing Professor Longhair, Meters, Nevilles, Irma Thomas and, of course, those Wild Tchoupitoulas for almost 30 years. It’s an enticing brew of Soul, Funk, Cajun, Zydeco, Swamp-Rock, Reggae and Big Chief Folk music that spans the generations ever since 19th Century emancipated Creoles made Rampart Street funky.
