Nightmares On Wax mastermind George Evelyn got his start in Leeds, England, in the 1980s, following in the style of New York hip-hop, and has since crafted a sound combining everything that the past five or six decades have come to define as music to dance to. The result is passively danceable hip-hop beats infused with house, electro, funk, soul, and Motown all bottled in together masterfully, which has seen collaboration with artists such as De La Soul and Roots Manuva. The duo will be playing Santos Party House in NYC on July 9 and Union Transfer in Philly on July 12.
