Sharon Van Etten is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter whose repertoire ranges from soulful indie rock to organ-fueled folk music. Growing up in Nutley, New Jersey, her early work in 2009 was marked by minimal compositions with masterful use of harmonies. Following two more releases since then, her music has grown more elaborate and driving, but retained the same direct simplicity. Her latest record, Are We There, released on May 27, and it will be followed by three New York performances at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg on June 12 and at the Bowery Ballroom on June 13 and 14. They will also play in Philly on June 18 at Union Transfer.
