Presenting an interesting sound that draws inspiration from artists like The Flaming Lips, Operation Ivy and Leonard Cohen, The Porchistas will be playing a hometown matinee show at The Wellmont Theater in Montclair on Feb. 23. Since day one, The Porchistas have always upheld a dedicated DIY ethic in both their musicianship and live performances. This innovative North Jersey-based quartet combines elements of psychedelic rock into a raw, lyrically-driven folk punk style. The band’s unique obscurity can be identified in self-released albums like Save The Earth and The Baby Album, which provide an alternating variety of songs based on their diverse influences. Doors open at 3 p.m.
