Portuguese metal veterans Moonspell will be returning to North America this month when they embark on a headlining tour alongside Napalm Records labelmates Atrocity and Leaves’ Eyes. The gloom metal five-piece formed in 1992, releasing their debut record, Wolfheart, in 1995, which propelled the group to the top of the metal charts in Europe. In 2012, the band released their ninth full-length, Alpha Noir, which was accompanied by sister album Omega White.
Ludwigsburg-based death metal band Atrocity have a similar history, producing over eight records of original material as well as several compilation albums in their nearly 30-year run. Leaves’ Eyes include all the current members of Atrocity but are fronted by former live vocalist Liv Kristine, and focus their music around tales of Norse mythology. The bands will be stopping first at Reverb in Reading, PA on Feb. 16 before making their way east to New York City to play Gramercy Theatre on Feb. 17.
