Following her critically acclaimed 2011 self-titled LP, Marissa Nadler will be celebrating the release of her sixth full-length, July, this week at Glasslands in Brooklyn on Feb. 8. The Massachusetts dark folk singer provides listeners with vivid lyrical imagery that complements beautifully with the haunting tone of her sound. Comparable to other dreary musicians like Chelsea Wolfe, July is a record that combines standard elements of Americana with the mesmerizing aesthetics of neo-folk. While venturing with DIY means to help put out her previous work, Nadler has teamed up with black metal producer Randall Dunn for this Scared Bones Records release.
