Psychedelic artist Connan Mockasin will be bringing his brand of experimental electronica to New York when he plays two shows in the city that never sleeps, starting at the Mercury Lounge on Jan. 9 and again on Jan. 10 at the Glasslands Gallery. He’ll also be stopping in Philadelphia for a show on Jan. 11 at Voyer. The New Zealand musician, whose real name is Connan Hosford, first began his solo career in 2008 after the breakup of his band, Connan And The Mockasins. In the time since, he has released three records, with his most recent being Caramel, which came out in November.
