An all-girl rock band from Toronto, Magneta Lane was formed when the trio got tired of simply watching concerts. Their most recent EP, Witchrock, is aptly named, as it has haunting lyrics and themes of not belonging. Their sound recalls the women of punk and new wave like Chrissie Hynde and the attitude of Joan Jett. They will be performing with the shoegazing Weekender on Dec. 11 at Pianos in New York City, and alone at The Grand Victory in Brooklyn on Dec. 12.
