As it has been proven time and time again, music crosses language barriers. This is the idea behind the second annual OneBeat, an organization that brings 25 artists from across the world together to create music as an ensemble, stopping at venues ranging from churches to schools to even a Wal-Mart, where they performed last year. The program is produced by Bang On A Can’s Found Sound Nation and hopes to raise cross-cultural tolerance and acceptance through music. OneBeat’s month-long East Coast tour will be concluding with two stops in New York City, the first on Oct. 3 at BRIC House and the second on Oct. 5 at the Irondale Center, both of which are in Brooklyn.
