Originally from Boston, the folk pop group Joy Kills Sorrow issued their latest seven-track EP, Wide Awake, June 4 on Signature Sounds. Marking the fifth release for the five-piece ensemble, the acoustically-driven album includes a cover of The Postal Service’s 2003 single, “Such Great Heights.” Joy Kills Sorrow was founded in 2005 and debuted their self-titled record the following year. Zoe Guigueno joined as their new bass player last fall, and has been a positive influence on the band by tightening up their groove. During their summer tour, Joy Kills Sorrow will be performing July 3 at Madison Square Park.
