Reigning from Winchester, London, punk folk singer-songwriter Frank Turner returns to the States for his American tour, which started June 1. Turner was originally lead vocalist for the post-hardcore group Million Dead until the band broke up in 2005. He went on to perform his own material and is now often accompanied by his backing band, The Sleeping Souls. Following England Keep My Bones, Turner released his fifth album, Tape Deck Heart, this past April on XTRA Mile/Interscope. The English musician is known for his straightforward manner on his records and Tape Deck Heart relishes in that raw honesty. Frank Turner will be hitting The Stone Pony’s stage in Asbury Park on June 8, and an in-store performance/signing at Vintage Vinyl precedes the gig at 4 p.m.
