Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Linda Draper has been surrounded with musicians her entire life, and her own work constantly finds her looking back to these roots. On Edgewise, her seventh LP, Draper distances herself from the mournful folk singer stereotype with a more versatile, rhythm-oriented sound. However, she still embraces her musical roots and looks to her personal canon of musical heroes, including Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Nick Drake. The album was released May 21, and its release show will be at The Bitter End on May 23.
