The bluegrass-inspired Brummy Brothers are set to play at New Brunswick’s Court Tavern May 2, and Asbury Park’s legendary Stone Pony May 4. Based out of East Brunswick, siblings Dave and Eric Brumberg formed The Brummy Brothers in January 2012 and shortly after, group members Andrew Morris and Russell Gottlieb joined to make the band complete. While all four sing, Dave drives the upright bass, Eric plays the mandolin, Russell Gottlieb rocks the banjo and Andrew Morris jams on the guitar. Drawing motivation from Phish and Umphrey’s McGee, The Brummy Brothers’ six-track debut, Manuscript Massacre, embodies modern idea of Americana bluegrass folk.
