Primarily known as lead singer of The Beta Band, an alternative group out of Britain, Steve Mason is currently breaking out his own material on tour. Mason’s latest release, Monkey Minds In The Devil’s Time, debuted March 2013 following his 2010 album, Boys Outside. The smooth, mellow pop vibe heard on both albums differs from his trip-hop electronic days as King Biscuit Time when he released Black Gold in 2006 and No Style in 2000. Now that he’s well established in his own melodic groove, Mason will be performing May 3 at the Mercury Lounge and May 4 at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn.
