The two members of Pyyramids, He Say She Say’s Drea Smith and OK Go’s Tim Nordwind, take pride in collaborating because of (and not in spite of) their contrasting backgrounds. This meeting of indie rock and electro-pop, enhanced greatly by Smith’s soulful vocals, results in a captivating ebb and flow between acoustic and electric, working off the natural energy between the two and drawing inspiration from the likes of The Smiths and Joy Division. Pyyramids’ first LP, Brightest Darkest Day, will be released April 9, and they will be playing at the Mercury Lounge on April 10. You can also see them April 11 at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly and at NYC’s Le Baron on April 12.
