Legendary bluesman Johnny Winter was signed to Columbia back in 1969, but his long and storied career began earlier. Raised in a gritty Texas town in the midst of great racial tension, Winter began by crossing over to listen to and play music in black communities, and continued through the years to present new ways of looking at the blues, becoming one of the most renowned and innovative guitarists in the business. Winter is headlining on the second day of the fourth annual Blues Bash at Centenary College in Hackettstown on March 23.
