Synth pop group Highasakite emerged with their 2012 debut, All That Floats Will Rain, in their native Norway, and were placed instantaneously and almost unanimously as the year’s most formidable new act. Led by singer Ingrid Helene Håvik, the band combines their unique rhythmic patterns with traces of Norwegian folk music and American ‘60s pop. Their first international release, the In And Out Of Weeks EP, was released earlier this month. Highasakite will play at Mercury Lounge on March 20 and Glasslands Gallery on March 21.
