Playing under her adopted moniker, Helen Money, experimental cellist Alison Chesley has reached new heights of progressive exploration with her third album, 2013’s Arriving Angels. The album, released by Profound Lore, finds Chesley branching into new, fuller arrangements, with her own instrument layered richly with effects met head-on by the guest drumming of Neurosis’ Jason Roeder. Look for Chesley to bring this new material to life one loop at a time when she hits Brooklyn for two shows this weekend, Friday night, March 22, at the Saint Vitus Bar and Sunday, March 24, at The Acheron, where she’ll play with Behold… The Arctopus! and A Life Once Lost, respectively.
