Vektor are, at heart, a thrash band, but they’ve also become known for using elements of progressive and black metal, with both lyrical and musical themes of science fiction. They have released two full-length albums—2009’s Black Future and 2011’s Outer Isolation—thus far, both marked by unrelenting ferocity and coldblooded tales of bleak futures. With their technical skill and unique vision, Vektor offer an interstellar solution to the slump of sameness in the thrash revival movement. They will be playing at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus Bar on Feb. 14.
