Alternative country band Deer Tick’s singer-songwriter, John McCauley, will be playing with guest musicians Middle Brother, Diamond Rugs, and other bands as part of WFUV’s Live At Zankel Hall on Oct. 27 at Carnegie Hall. Drawing from blues, country, and folk roots, Deer Tick’s music delves into Southern tones while also incorporating a modern rock sound with John McCauley’s raspy vocals and loud rhythmic guitar; contrary to his solo pieces which slow down the tempo. McCauley’s solo performances of songs such as “Miss K” from Deer Tick’s most recent album, Divine Providence, turn into ballads and acoustic masterpieces.
