From straight out of L.A., Family Of The Year bring back an older tune coming from their favorite musicians, The Beach Boys. The only difference is that they somehow find a way to modernize that sound into a more current indie pop genre. Surprisingly, the band pulls this trick off extremely well. Not only are their songs catchy, but they are heartfelt at the same time. For a more vivid explanation of said talent, be at the Mercury Lounge on Oct. 4, Brooklyn’s Glasslands Gallery on Oct. 5, and Philly’s North Star Bar on Oct. 6.
