Aufheben is the latest work, on sale since May 2012, from the alternative rock outfit, Brian Jonestown Massacre. The album came out via frontman Anton Newcombe’s own label, A Records. Recorded in Berlin, the disc’s title is a German word with multiple meanings, such as “to abolish,” “preserve,” and “transcend.” The group is set to play at Union Transfer in Philly on Aug. 23 and at NYC’s Webster Hall on Aug. 25. Magic Castles will be opening each show. Check with the venue for ticket prices and starting times.
