Ohio’s pop quartet, The Strange Familiar, will start becoming familiar in NYC quite soon. The four-piece act made up of vocalist/keyboardist Kira Leyden, guitarist Jeff Andrea, bassist Frank Freeman and drummer Nicholas Sainato will be striking keys over at Piano’s in lower Manhattan on May 22. The recent success of their latest album, Chasing Shadows, is prompting new opportunities for the Akron natives, such as having their music featured on Vampire Diaries. Don’t miss their upbeat yet soulful sound at Piano’s upstairs lounge. Showtime is at 7 p.m., with The Strange Familiar kicking off the night. For more information on the 21+ show, check out the venue’s website.
