This folk singer has worked hard to be where she is. Amy Correia attended Barnard College before pursuing her career in music. After graduating, she lived in Chinatown and worked in advertising during the day. Correia would then devote her nights to performing and songwriting. Ultimately, this paid off; she has recently been nominated for three Independent Music Awards, “Singer-songwriter Folk Album,” “Love Song,” and “Story Song.” Amy Correia will be at the Union County Performing Arts Center, in Rahway, NJ, on April 14. Tickets are $20; show starts at 8 p.m.
