Hailing from rural Canada, Royal Canoe will be performing for the first time in New York in support of their EP, Extended Play. They play traditional instruments, but also have turned everyday objects into musical devices for this album. The band will show their stuff in America at their scheduled performance at SXSW before arriving in NY. Royal Canoe’s sound can be described as pop-rock, but the group blends multiple genres into the music they produce. “Today We’re Believers,” the single off of the current EP, is the perfect showcase of the melting pot of a style they have formulated. Royal Canoe play at Spike Hill in Brooklyn on March 21.
