I just got texted a link to a brand new music video from my boys Panzie* for their song “All American” and I have not been able to shake the song from my head since! I love this band! They’re badass and there is nothing Panzie* about them! Check out their new video for “All American” now since it’s all over their Facebook page, facebook.com/panZRocknRoll.
Speaking of great new music videos, has anyone seen the new video from the Scarlet Carson boys yet? Wow! They just released a music video for their song “Foreverless” off of their latest CD, Foreverless, and the video is epic and deep! The cameras follow singer Santino Hollywood through a depression of losing the love of his life, played by local hot model, Kathryn Bee. The rest of the video shows the boys performing “Foreverless” in a cemetery on top of her grave. What a great concept for a video from a local band. How are these guys not signed yet? Hello, labels? Are you reading? Check out the video for “Foreverless” now on Scarlet Carson’s Facebook page, facebook.com/ScarletCarsonRocks.
Former Beatrix Kiddo singer Jimmy Forest seems to be moving on with his songwriting. He’s put together a new band tentatively under the name Forest. He was posting that he was excited about this new project that he was working on and I know that he was playing guitar for red hot female singer, Natasha Komis, but it sounds like Jimmy’s moved on to his own thing, and the tracks that I’ve heard, so far, I have to say, it was a smart move! I was a fan of this kid’s playing since I saw him with Beatrix Kiddo. He had that ‘80s swagger, but that could be because he’s the son of Push drummer Jimmy Forest. Push was one of my favorite local Jersey bands back in the Studio One era! Anyway, Jimmy’s new songs, “Keep The Faith” and “Obscene,” are insanely good and I hope to see good things happen to this kid! Check out Jimmy’s new songs at reverbnation.com/forestbandd.
The boys from Mother recently sent me a copy of their new CD, Dissonant Young, and it’s very good! My favorite track on the disc is song called “Digital Monster,” but every song sounds amazing! I also liked “Out Alive,” “As You Run,” and the title track. Singer Nick Fargo’s voice is simply amazing on these songs! Give Dissonant Young a listen now or buy it at rockyourmother.com. And finally, it sounds like Dave Incognito might’ve finally solidified a lineup for his band, InDisguise, after many, many changes, and it couldn’t come at a better time. InDisguise is about to release their debut CD, Ashes Divide, so they would need to solidify a live lineup to promote it. Joining the InDisguise staples of Dave and guitarist Jay Prussack are bassist Wayne Sparacino and drummer Tim Protsman, who was the original drummer from Middletown’s Core Device. For now, InDisguise is a solid unit, so be on the lookout for them live in the coming months! For more info on InDisguise, log onto facebook.com/InDisguiseBand.
That’s all for now! If your band is from North Jersey, and you want some exposure, send your press kits to Arts Weekly, c/o Tim Louie P.O. Box 1140, Little Falls, NJ 07424, or you can email me at tim@theaquarian.com, where you can also let me know where you’re performing next!
Just remember….We’re all in the same boat, so every little bit of exposure counts!
