LITTLE DEVIL—Warren, NJ
I was recently on ReverbNation, scouting out the talent in North Jersey, when I found a great little rock band out of Warren called Little Devil. Now, there’s an easy, commercial name that’s never been used before! Anyway, while I was on their page, reverbnation.com/littledevilband, I had the pleasure of listening to songs like my favorite track “Hanging Out,” “Sleep Alone” and “My Only Vice,” which I thought were amazing songs! Any of them could be a hit!
Little Devil formed back in September 2010 in a small Central Jersey suburb, with a goal of playing every night. This four-piece consists of two brothers and two childhood friends: Singer/guitarist Mike Pellegrino, singer/guitarist/keyboardist Frank Peterpaul, bassist Brandon Alboum and drummer Anthony Peterpaul. The songs are about heartbreak and friendship, drinking too much, and having too much fun!
Before I move on, can I just say that Frank and Anthony have the coolest last name? How can you beat a last name like Peterpaul? Well, besides Louie, that is!
Little Devil has only been a band a little less than two years, but have already shared the stage with some top acts like Rusko, the super-group The Damned Things and Cash Cash. The boys recently released their debut EP, We Still Got Time, back in June and have been supporting it since. If you want to give Little Devil a listen or find out where they’re playing next, log onto reverbnation.com/littledevilband.
NORTH JERSEY NOTES UPDATES:
My boys Filter Effect just landed an amazing gig at the Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA, on Feb. 17. They’ll be opening for Steel Panther, who will be back on the East Coast. Steel Panther is probably the funniest rock band in the world, so it should be pretty interesting to see how Filter Effect fits into this show. If you missed Steel Panther in NYC and Philly earlier this month, you’ll want to get to this show. For more info on Filter Effect, log onto filtereffect.com.
Santino Hollywood and his Scarlet Carson brothers will host a music video premiere party in conjunction with Maria Mar from The WRAT, for their song “Foreverless” at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ, on Feb. 3. Scarlet Carson will be performing a full set and debut their music video, which features local actress Kathryn Bee. Also sharing the stage will be End Of An Era, Stillframe (formerly known as The New Black), Another Lost Year, Beyond Visible and Audacity. For more info on this party, log onto facebook.com/ScarletCarsonRocks.
And finally, a couple of weeks ago I mentioned a brand new band that features my bro and bassist Roy Brunston, my old Smoke Star drummer Chris Manfre, and my old Mean Venus/Sik Twisted Smile guitarist Marcelo Cardosa. Well, they still don’t have a name, and now they have no lead singer. It turns out singer Dan Gomez has already left the band due to musical differences, which is crazy because these guys have some amazing songs already written. If you can sing your ass off, contact the band at rocknroy0872@aol.com.
That’s all for now! If your band is from North Jersey, and you want some exposure, send your press kits to Arts Weekly, c/o Tim Louie P.O. Box 1140, Little Falls, NJ 07424, or you can email me at tim@theaquarian.com, where you can also let me know where you’re performing next!
Just remember: We’re all in the same boat, so every little bit of exposure counts!
