Legendary Cuban pianist and eight-time Grammy winner Chucho Valdes was born into a life of fortune. His father, Bebo Valdes, is former director his own famed Tropicana night club band, and Chucho has certainly met his father’s standards. The 70-year-old has released over 20 albums and is now considered a living manifestation of Afro-Cuban jazz history. He will be having three consecutive shows in the New York/New Jersey area. First he will perform at The McCarter Theatre in Princeton on Jan. 20, then at Carnegie Hall in New York on Jan. 21 and finally at NJPAC in Newark on Jan 22.
