Daniel Johnston, the comical indie-rock musician and artist will be displaying his art work at BLAST Art Gallery in Teaneck, NJ, on Dec. 1. Both Johnston’s music and art are composed of pure enthusiasm. Through his songs, he tells the stories of unrequited love and abstract ideas that are equally present in his drawings and paintings. His artwork has been featured in New York’s Clementine Gallery and London’s Aquarium Gallery. Johnston has worked on various projects such as painting a mural of his 1983 album cover on the side of the Sound Exchange record store in Texas. Experience one of his many talents at the showing, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. For more information, visit blastgallery.com.
