New Zealand artist David Kilgour has been playing guitar since he was a teenager in the late 1970s, when he and his brother, Hamish, set out to form the popular group The Clean, who became one of New Zealand’s most recognized indie rock bands. In the 1980s, The Clean broke up and Kilgour went on to perform solo, arranging for his backup band, The Heavy Eights. The band has been busy preparing to release their newest album, Left By Soft, and are about to kick off a co-headlining tour in Los Angeles with Richard Buckner for the month of August. Be sure to check out the group as they perform in Brooklyn at the Bell House on Aug. 27.
