Debo: Real Swagger And Soul

Boston’s own Debo has been energizing audiences since 2006, blending influences of the last 40 years of Ethiopian music. Debo enriches each audience they perform in front of with a combination of East African polyrhythms, classic American soul and funk all while offering up that brass band Eastern European instrumentation. The group has had a high rise to fame when they traveled in 2009 to Addis Ababa performing at the 8th Ethiopian Music Festival along with several other locations around Africa capturing a few of their live performances on a four-track EP, titled Flamingoh.
