LUMINIS—Springfield, NJ
Luminis singer Tara Grey emailed me recently looking for coverage for her band. I went and gave Luminis a quick listen and found them to be rather interesting. The music was heavy at times with some really melodic and mellow changes and powerful, almost operatic, vocals from Tara. Personally, this type of music is not something that I would listen to, but I do respect what they’re doing. The songs “Into My Sin,” “Nightfall Child” and “The Other Side Of The Mirror” off of Luminis’s recent EP, From Within, really showcase Tara’s voice, which wouldn’t sound too bad on Broadway.
Luminis is a Springfield, NJ-based gothic/symphonic metal band that formed in 2005. The band started out as a cover and tribute band but has since become all-original. Luminis’s two core members, Tara and drummer Steve, write and record all of the band’s songs. They recently released From Within, and plan to record their first full‐length CD later this year.
When it comes to playing live, Luminis adds a guitarist named Andre. They recently brought their show to the Clash Bar in Clifton, NJ, when they performed with my buds, Flames of Fury. If you want to give Luminis a listen and are into the goth-rock thing, log onto luminisband.com.

John Rango and Friends will be performing Echofission originals mixed in with some of the band’s favorite cover songs.
