Since their big breakthrough in 2005, moody English rockers, Bloc Party have released one critically acclaimed record after the other, and successfully made themselves something of a mainstay on American airwaves. After declaring a hiatus in October of 2009, the guys all scrambled around to various side projects. Perhaps at the forefront is lead singer Kele Okereke’s solo album, The Boxer. Despite adamant denial that Bloc Party is done forever, Kele’s solo effort has been gaining interest from fans and critics alike; who knows what could snowball from this? Catch him live along with Does It Offend You, Yeah? Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Webster Hall. ($25, doors 7 p.m. 18+ to enter.)
