The Meyer Rossabi Band invades North Jersey on Aug. 14 opening for The Christine Martucci Band at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ. Who is The Meyer Rossabi Band? Well, I’m about to tell you. They’re a great blues rock trio out of Brooklyn, NY, that recently came across my desk. I gave them a listen on their MySpace page, and I liked tracks like “World Gone Crazy,” “Modern Women,” and the very bluesy “Crash.” Now, these were real blues rock songs that I can see doing really well at Mexicali. The guitar work was simply amazing!
Meyer Rossabi is a singer, songwriter, and a blues guitarist whose dedicate his career to keeping the legacy of blues guitar rock alive. He’s been influenced by artists like Eric Clapton, Jeff Healy, Les Paul, Steve Ray Vaughn, and Johnny Winter. Even though Meyer Rossabi is most noted for his amazing guitar work, his smooth and soulful voice is also gaining him much recognition with some top names. He’s performed and recorded with artists like Gary US Bonds, Chuck Berry, and he even co-wrote the song “Don’t Blame Me“ featuring Joan Jett on vocals. Joining Meyer in his band is bassist Frankie Cheez. Frankie’s toured the globe as guitar tech and sound engineer for bands like 3 Doors Down, The Misfits, and American Hi-Fi, just to name a few. Frankie is currently in the studio working with the legendary Marky Ramone, producing tracks for his band, Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg, with former Misfits singer Michale Graves on vocals. On drums is Paul Kane, who’s been playing the New York City club circuit for more than 20 years. Paul’s resume includes bands like The Psychedelic Furs, Expose, and Stuttering John’s Band.
This upcoming special live performance at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ, on Aug. 14 for The Meyer Rossabi Band will feature songs from the band’s CD, Just A Little Taste Of The Blues, as well as tracks from their upcoming CD, Blues Is The Color.
North Jersey Notes Updates
The boys from Atom Strange will be heading back into the recording studio to lay down tracks for four brand new songs. Yes, they did only release their latest CD, Cosmic Disturbance, a few months ago, but they just can’t wait to put these songs on tape. Atom Strange is still unsure whether they will be releasing the songs as singles or making them a part of CD number three. They’ve already tested the new songs out live and have been receiving an overwhelming response to them. You can catch Atom Strange live and hopefully hear one of the new songs this Thursday night, July 29, at The Public Assembly in Brooklyn, NY. For more info on Atom Strange, log onto atomstrange.com.
Gar Francis, guitarist of The Doughboys, recently collaborated with Jersey Shore rock band, The Easy Outs on their latest single “Come On, Come On.” In fact, Gar wrote and produced the song along with Kurt Reil from House Of Vibes Studios in Highland Park, NJ. “Come On, Come On” is available now for download now at cdbaby.com/cd/easyouts1.
